The Beautiful Struggle | Get Unstuck in Life

Life hits hard. We hit back. Life is raw, unfiltered. This is my attempt to peel back layers. Making the complicated into something better. Let's navigate challenges, find some clarity, and embrace the journey, together. I'm Fred, a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a teacher. Let's get unstuck!

In this gem-filled episode, I interviewed my principal at Commodore Sloat Elementary School, Greg John.  Greg started as an English teacher, then eventually made his way to being a principal after being involved in various educational reform movements.  Listen to the passion in his voice and gain an insight into what a principal's job is all about!  He reads one of the stories from his book, Notes From the Playground, called "Matches" and he reflects on the importance of empathy when he found out one of his students tried to burn a bungalow down.  Listen to how he built a bridge with the child's family and how these stories are not only a reflection on his leadership style but his inner spirituality as well.  Find out WHY one should lead with their best self!
