Summer is here and we want to share with you our favorite books that will help bring a new and inspiring perspective in your teaching practice and beyond.  I've taken so much from each of these books in both my own professional and personal journeys and we truly believe that you'll get a lot from them too.

Today, I chat with Christina Costa of Teach Like A Girl. I found Christina on Instagram and immediately noticed that she is authentic and loves to have fun. I don't follow a lot of teachers on Instagram, but I made sure that I followed Christina as she has a positive message about empowering women and girls that is authentic.

We then dive into how she deals with haters and how to use Instagram effectively especially when you want to promote your TpT store.  Then, Christina shares a special announcement about her journey in education--listen in!

You can find Christina on Youtube, Instagram and on Teachers Pay Teachers

New school, new grade and a new way to teach!

Jul 31, 2017

Today, we go over Sharon's new 6th grade position and figure out how to innovate the curriculum. Luckily, we have the new awesome books, Empower (AJ Juliani & John Spencer) and Spark Learning (Ramsey Musallam) to help lead the way for us.  We lightly go over what some of our takeaways are from these books.

Plus, you'll hear Sharon's new teaching philosophy!  I bet y it'll sound peculiarly familiar to you--but still very powerful.

See you in the episode!

For this summer, we wanted to take our TpT journey to the next level.  Since we started on that platform a couple years ago, we've never really been able to get really started.  What I Wish I Had Known Before I Started My Teacher Author Journey

But that is about to change.  We have small success but we wanted to build on that.  We reached out to three amazing teacher authors and asked them: What I Wish I Had Known Before I Started My Teacher Author Journey?  Find out from Rick, Rebecca, and Christina on what they had to say about this.

We encourage you to check out their stores and discover some amazing things that you can use now!

Imagine a festival that has great food, music, movies and designed for teachers.  What am I talking about?

Last week, during March 5-9th, 2017, Fred attended SXSWEdu that as you can tell, is for teachers.  Set in amazing Austin, TX, Fred, along with his colleague, attended SXSWEdu to not only check out the latest good things happening in the world of education but to also had a mission to see how it would be to send our faculty to go in the future.

Fred breaks down his experience at SXSWEdu with Sharon, who was stuck at home with sick kids.  Did Fred like it?  Well, let’s just say he struggled with it a bit. Find out why in this episode

This is a fun episode where we figure out who would be our favorite student to teach at Hogwarts and why.  You may not expect who we pick!

This subject was inspired by this Playbuzz article and  John Spencer's podcast as well.
